MyOSU Login Difficulties Resolved

The login issues with the myOSU portal have been resolved. One of the portal servers reached a session limit, causing it to temporarily reject new connections.

ONID Outage Monday December 15th 11:20am – noon

An internal MySQL database server hung, causing the following ONID services to be unavailable from 11:20am to noon:

– ONID Webmail (https://webmail.oregonstate.edu) – MyONID website (ONID Password changes, ONID Sign-Up) – ONID SSO (the old SSO system, not CAS) – Cacti graphs (http://cacti.onid.oregonstate.edu)

The root cause is still under investigation.

ClassroomSAN and DigitalAssets

On Wednesday December 17th, from 8am to 10am, the ClassroomSAN and DigitalAssets.oregonstate.edu will be unavailable while updates are installed and SAN maintenance is performed.

Outage for federation services

A set of secondary authentication certificates expired overnight on Federation.oregonstate.edu affecting Office 365 web logins and Kumo. The certificate has been replaced and service has been restored. The outage was from 1:01AM-8:46AM, Today 12/12/2014. This does not affect OneDrive for Business application, installed office, OneNote or other applications installed to devices; but purely the interactive login page for office 365, and kumo.

Good afternoon,

Tonight the IS Server Support team will performing emergency maintenance on one of the SharePoint servers at 10PM to address service issues. We expect this maintenance to cause an outage for about an hour while we add resources to the system.

Who will this affect: All SharePoint users When will this happen: Friday – 12-5-2014 @ 10:00PM – 11:00PM What are we doing: Adding storage and memory resources Why are we doing this: Addressing performance and stability issues with growing utilization on the SharePoint farm.

Degree Works (My Degrees) Now Available

Degree Works (My Degrees) has been restored to service. A bug in the software prevented new files from being created. The issue has been resolved, and preventive measures taken to prevent recurrence.

LS Networks planned maintenance on 1 am to 4 am 12/04/2014

The circuit provider for the Bend Hub has notified NERO of planned maintenance on Thursday, December 4th, between 0100-0400. Customers connected to the Bend Hub will experience intermittent connectivity during the maintenance window.

Unplanned OSU Service Outage

A misconfiguration on the network caused many services to go down between 16:20 and 16:55. After correcting the configuration error we are stable. Sorry for the disruption in service.

Blackboard Maitenance this Thursday

Blackboard service restored

Exchange issues resolved about 1:30PM

Exchange service has been restored and appears to be stable at this time.

The issue started today at 11:30AM today and resolved at about 1:30PM. During that time, email clients were connecting to the server but were not receiving new messages.

We are still investigating the root cause of this issue.
