LS Networks planned maintenance on Midnight to 5 am 9/18/2014

LSN will be performing maintenance on September 18th, 2014 00:01 to 05:00 PDT in multiple cities in OR and WA. LSN will be perform software upgrades on Metro-Ethernet core equipment. Our Network Operation Center technicians will closely monitor the work and will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to you.

Patching CN-Home, CN-Share, TSS1, TSS4

Maintenance will be performed on the following ONID services Sunday September 14th from 8:00am to 9:00am:

– ONID Webmail (https://webmail.oregonstate.edu) – MyONID website (ONID Password changes, ONID Sign-Up) – ONID SSO (the old SSO system, not CAS) – Cacti graphs (http://cacti.onid.oregonstate.edu)

An internal MySQL database server will be upgraded. These services will be unavailable while the MySQL upgrade is happening.

I will be adding disk space to accomodate unexpected growth of the databases.

Nolij Server Move

The NFS server hosting Nolij files will be physically moved to a different rack on September 10 between 6:00PM and 11:59PM. The Nolij application will be halted, the server moved and the application re-started and confirmed operational. The timeframe has been confirmed with Nolij application users. This is triggered by a need to move different equipment into the rack this server currently occupies. This is considered a low-risk activity, but can be reversed, if necessary.

Lync Maintenance

Good Evening,

The IS Server Support team will performing routine patching and maintenance on two of the Lync servers Sunday at 9AM. We do not expect this maintenance to cause an outage, however lync users will be disconnected and re-connected as the servers are rebooted and users switch to the redundant server(s) and back.

Who will this affect: Mostly Transparent to customers. When will this happen: Sunday – 9:00AM What are we doing: Applying the remaining patches and Roll ups to Lync Why are we doing this: Maintaining current patch levels ensures compatibility, bug fixes, and health and welfare of the service.

OSU_Access Wireless Network Maintenance

Service(s) affected: OSU_Access Wireless Network

The OSU_Access wireless network will be down for maintenance for approximately 10 minutes.

Outage Window: Start: 09/05/2014 5:00 PM End: 09/05/2014 5:30 PM

Reason for outage: OSU_Access has been experiencing intermittent connectivity issues with a limited number of clients. In troubleshooting we need to restart a service.

Impact:

Departments affected: Any Users using OSU_Access will be affected

Locations affected: OSU Campus

Applications affected: OSU_Access connectivity will be affected

NERO unplanned Outage for Medford Area 2014-8-27 3 pm

There was an interruption of service on the backbone circuit to the Medford hub between 15:05 and 15:08 today. NERO is currently investigating and working with the backbone circuit provider. Impacted customers include all those who connect to the NERO Medford hub. This includes: SOU, SOESD, SOPTV, and OSU Extension offices in Grants Pass and Central Point. Connectivity to the Medford hub is restored.

Banner Maintenance 8/29/2014 11:55PM – 9/1/2014 5:00PM

Banner and Banner-related applications will be unavailable from Friday, August 29 at 11:55PM through Monday, September 1 at 5:00PM due to annual software upgrades and maintenance work. This affects many online administrative applications.

What is affected:

* Online Services (Banner Self-Service), Banner INB, AppWorx, Nolij, OSCAR, Degreeworks and BRM will be inoperable the entire weekend. * Banner portlets and Banner-related links within the myOSU portal will be inaccessible over the entire weekend. * Data Warehouse will be available after 8:00 am on Saturday morning. * TouchNet will still accept payments but payments won’t be posted until the upgrades are complete

Data Center Maintenance in Milne 2014-8-25 5 pm

The circuit provider for the Bend Hub has notified NERO of planned maintenance on Tuesday, August 26th, between 0100-0400. Customers connected to the Bend Hub will experience intermittent connectivity during the maintenance window.

NERO has been notified by the customer circuit provider for the Klamath Falls and Medford Hub sites of planned maintenance on Friday, August 22, between 0000-0300. Hunter Communications is continuing to upgrade their network backbone.

Hunter expects intermittent loss of connectivity throughout the maintenance window.

We do not expect this maintenance to cause an outage, however users mailboxes who are associated to that server might see a message in their Outlook client would be “Disconnected from Exchange” followed by re-connected to Exchange.” while their mailbox switches to the redundant server(s) and back.

Who will this affect: Mostly Transparent to customers. When will this happen: Thursday – 8-13-2014 @ 06:00PM – 9:30PM What are we doing: re-seed of a failed mailbox database Why are we doing this: to ensure full redundancy

NERO Maintenance August 13 2014, between 0400-0600

NERO will be rebooting the Portland Customer Aggregation router tomorrow, August 13 2014, between 0400-0600. This is to resolve a bug in Cisco IOS that is affecting frame-relay connected customers. Unfortunately there are no workarounds beyond rebooting the entire device.

This outage will impact all customers directly attached to the ptck-car1-gw router in Portland.

Expect 10-15 minutes of downtime early in the maintenance window as the router reloads. The entire maintenance window is reserved for additional troubleshooting as needed.
