Administrative Application Maintenance 11:59pm Friday June 22nd – no later than noon Sunday June 24th

OSU Network Announcements - 11 hours 38 min ago

What will be happening: We will be performing routine patches and upgrades to Banner, Banner Self-Service (Online Services), and index maintenance for DegreeWorks (MyDegrees) from 11:59pm Friday, June 22nd, and we estimate it will finish no later than noon (12pm) Sunday, June 24th. These applications will be unavailable during this time.

What else will be impacted: Additionally, applications that query or interact directly with Banner may be unavailable or have limited functionality. These applications include Appworx, BRM, Cleanaddr, College Scheduler, eValS, eSET, FormFusion, myOSU (some links and portlets may display errors), Nolij, OSCAR, Scholarship Management System, Touchnet (up—but balances will not update during maintenance), R25 and Banner Workflow.

What won’t be impacted: Canvas will be available for routine coursework. Email systems, Google Apps, Box and EmpCenter will be functioning normally and can be used during this time.

What should you know: This set of updates will change some of the look and feel of Banner 9 Administrative Pages. Specifically, we are upgrading the Application Navigator to 3.x which has an improved interface with the left navigation bar. With an easy click or keystroke, users can open the menu to perform any desired action. It also fully supports all mobile, tablet, and desktop devices. For a video look at Banner v9 changes, please review the following video from Ellucian demonstrating the look and feel: We are also going to be doing some maintenance work on DegreeWorks (MyDegrees) which will improve the performance and the responsiveness of that application.

Where can I get more information on the Banner v9 initiative: We have a project website that illustrates what we are doing, when things are happening, and other helpful hints on the changes included in this mandatory upgrade to Banner v9 (XE):

Thanks, Kent.
