Oracle Optimization Parameter Change

On July 6 2016 we will be removing an optimization parameter (_unnest_subquery) in Oracle production databases, returning to the baseline configuration. This parameter was originally set to FALSE to address a bug in earlier versions of Oracle that caused certain database queries to run slowly. The bug does not exist in the version of Oracle we are currently running. Removing the parameter will make certain types of queries run more quickly, and be otherwise unnoticeable.

This change can be made (and reversed) with no interruption to service. The update was made to the development databases a month ago, and the ECS and CORE team programmers approve of the change.

Airwave Upgrade to 8.2.X

Information Services has successfully completed the emergency maintenance scheduled today (Monday, June 27, 2016: 5:00pm-9:30pm). At 8:22pm, all services have been returned to service and Appworx jobs have been rescheduled and restarted.

The following services have now been fully restored and functioning:

We will be performing emergency maintenance on administrative databases this evening between 5:00PM and 9:30PM to replace equipment used as temporary bypass for a switch that malfunctioned earlier this month.

No scheduled Appworx jobs will run after 4:00PM-jobs will start running when the maintenance is completed.

The following services will be unavailable or will have limited functionality:

Network Outage

Colleagues,

As you know we just experienced an approximately 1 hour outage on the network, starting at 1:45pm. We have identified a high volume data stream and blocked it. This has resulted in the network returning to service. We will be looking at this in detail and see what we can do to prevent in the future.
