Student Scanning LaptopEquipment is checked out on a first-come, first-served basis and is only available to currently enrolled students for student organization events that are open to all students.

Equipment can be checked out for 48 hours. Once returned, there is a 48 hour wait period before the same type of equipment can be checked out again. There is also a 3 hour checkout option for laptops only that does not include a waiting period upon return.

All late fees ($25 per day/per kit) are automatically charged to student accounts.

Event Photography and Videography

Submit this form to request an SMS photographer for portraiture and event photography.

You may also schedule an appointment or event by calling 541-737-7964.

An SMS student photographer or videographer may be available to capture images of on-campus student events. Up to one hour of imaging time is free; additional hours may be available for a fee.

All photography and videography captured by SMS students is owned by SMS and OSU and can be included in our SMS stock inventory for future student use.

Studio Space

SMS has a studio available for students to use. See Studios for details.

Pricing

Prices include one student photographer or videographer. Prices apply to on-campus events only.

Printing

Poster Being PrintedOur turnaround time is 48 hours during normal business hours, Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, excluding holidays. (Example: student submits a job at 3:00pm on Friday, the job would be finished by 3:00pm the following Tuesday.) SMS strives to exceed this turnaround, but it is not guaranteed.

Depending on staff availability, a rush order may be possible for an additional fee of $50. The fee will be charged to your student organization via purchase order.

All OSU logos must meet Brand Identity Guidelines. SMS will replace logos based on these guidelines.

Brochure & Flyer Printing

The first ten standard paper copies are free of charge per event, double-sided, no folding. Please email SMS Production for any help with formatting your files or give us a call at 541-737-7964. Additional copies can be ordered for a fee up to a maximum of 50 pages.

Paper sizes are 8.5x11" (8x10.5" printable area) or 11x17" (10.5x16.5" printable area).

Files delivered in Microsoft PowerPoint/Publisher or Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign must be submitted in their native format.

Brochures created using any other authoring tool should be delivered as a PDF, TIF, or JPG.

OSU sponsored and voluntary student organizations receive up to four standard paper posters free per event. There is a reduced additional charge if you would like to upgrade the paper type on these posters.  We can also print 42 inch wide posters for a fee.

Mounting and additional prints can be ordered for a fee. Lamination is available for a fee ($10) at a maximum width of 36 inches. All fees are charged to the student organization via purchase order.

Scanning

Submit this form to place a scanning order before you drop off your original at the Valley Library.

Student scanning large imageFlatbed and transparency scanning is available for sizes up to 12x17". Two scans per event are available at no cost.

Feed scanning (up to 42" one side, no greater than an ¼" thick) that contains multiple layers must have all edges taped down securely.

Turnaround time is 48 hours during normal business hours, Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, excluding holidays. (Example: student submits a job at 3:00pm on Friday, the job would be finished by 3:00pm the following Tuesday.) If printing is needed in addition to scanning, allow additional 48 hours. SMS strives to exceed this turnaround time but it is not guaranteed.

Studios

Images of all rooms available for student check-outSMS has a photo/video studio, an interview studio, an audio recording studio, and 4 multimedia workstations available for checkout for course- and research-related work.

To request any of these rooms, click on a link below or stop by the SMS desk, located on the second floor of the Valley Library. Bring your student ID and have a preferred date and time in mind. If you have questions, please call us at 541-737-7964 or e-mail us.

On the Day of Your Reservation

  • Bring your student ID.
  • Come to the SMS desk to get keys.
  • Please remember to clean up after yourself and your attendees.
  • When you're done, return the keys to the SMS desk.

Audio Recording Studio
