On Monday, 8/29/2016 at 5PM, the IS Service Desk Walk-Up will be moving from the Valley Library to Milne Computer Center room 201.
The IS Service Desk Walk-Up provides computer support to all OSU students and employees. With this move, the walk-up services will be merging with the IS Service Desk call center to provide one seamless service to OSU.
Please note: Student Multimedia Services and equipment check-out will remain in the Valley Library next to the circulation desk.
Services available at the IS Service Desk Walk-Up include:
Application support (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Operating system problem or error diagnosis
Assistance with and education on malware removal
Laptop service including basic hardware diagnosis, simple hardware replacements and OS rebuilds
Wireless printing configuration (BeaverPrint)
Residence Hall network (ResNet) connectivity help
Support for campus services such as Canvas, Online Services and ONID
Referrals to other campus services as needed

Q: Are all of the "walk-up" services moving from the Valley Library to Milne?
A: No; Student Multimedia Services (such as poster printing) and equipment checkout will remain in the Library at this time.
Q: What is a "Service Desk"?
A: As of Summer 2016, Information Services has begun the implementation of a Service Desk based on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). ITIL is a framework of best practices for IT Service Management. For more information, see: What is the IS Service Desk?
Q: Can employees get help from the IS Service Desk?
A: Yes! Employees are welcome to come to the walk-up or call for assistance with their IT needs. The walk-up is a particularly good place to get help setting up wireless connectivity or email setup.
