Single Sign On

OSU Login supports two protocols for Single Sign On (SSO), SAML and CAS.  OSU Login is powered by Shibboleth.

SAML

Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is an open standard for exchanging authentication and authorization data between an identity provider and a service provider.  This is OSU's preferred integration technology for cloud and other vendor platforms.  Integration with SAML for vendors and applications that are not members of InCommon or eduGAIN requires the exchange of metadata and configuration information.  

CAS

In addition to SAML, OSU Login supports the CAS protocol.  Custom applications that wish to integrate using CAS should utilize a standard CAS client.

IdP Information

OSU's IDP is published in the InCommon and eduGAIN metadata.  If your SP consumes InCommon or eduGAIN metadata, you can find us by our EntityID.
