Labs and Classrooms for Academic Year 2020-2021
We intend to keep the software collection constant throughout the academic year; however, minor changes may occur as necessary for security, licensing or technical requirements .

Notes: The information on this page refers to labs managed centrally by University Information and Technology; some schools and departments have their own computer classrooms and labs, which they manage, and instructors should check with their department if they have questions.  This page concerns the following learning spaces only:

  • Virtual Campus Lab (remote access)
  • Kidder 28 (Mac - Closed fall term due to Covid)
  • Kidder 33 (Windows - Closed fall term due to Covid)
  • Bexell 324 (Windows - Closed fall term due to Covid)
  • Withycombe 205 (Windows - Closed fall term due to Covid)
  • Fairbanks 104 (Mac - Closed fall term due to Covid)
  • Moreland 130B  (Windows - Closed fall term due to Covid)
  • Reed Lodge 111 (Windows - Closed fall term due to Covid)
  • OSU Cascades: open lab and laptop carts (Windows and Mac)

Significant service notes for fall 2020:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud: Due to Covid, we are prioritizing Adobe Creative Cloud access for students in majors or programs that require it.  This page will be updated when there's more information about access to this software.
  • Software versions are finalized during the summer.  In general, we will try to install the most current version that does not create compatibility issues.
  • Citrix Apps Server (apps.oregonstate.edu) hosts a collection of software, and is accessible using several common devices (Windows, Mac, Chromebook)
  • Virtual Campus Labs Service allows students and instructional faculty to use an on-campus computer from off-campus.  For more information, please see https://oregonstate.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1935/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?I....

Below is the planned list of software installed in our labs and classrooms for Academic Year 2020-2021.

Instructors may request additional software using this form ; however, it may take up to two weeks to install, and possibly longer if the software uses non-standard installation or licensing procedures.  Requests to install software must include license documentation.  (Note: It is normally the department's responsibility to pay for software licenses for their classes.)
