Description: 

Migrate administrative databases and application servers to Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) datacenters.  This is an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution.  OSU staff will continue to manage the servers and databases in the new location.

This migration will adjust our licensing, allow additional encryption and provide for a full DR solution.

Status Summary: 

Vendors have been engaged for network design/buildout and for project management and system migration assistance.

An initial network design has been presented, and roles and resource responsibilities proposed for managing cloud services.

Recently Completed: 
  • Contracts for both vendors in place
  • Initial network design
  • Tenency established
  • Roles and responsibilities identified and access permissions being tested.
  • Oracle database backups shifted to cloud offering
