Available for OSU faculty, staff and students on institutional or personally-owned devices or computers for use in education and non-commercial research.

Once you leave OSU, you must remove ALL SITE-LICENSED SOFTWARE from your personal computers.  Any valid licenses on work computers may be transferred to another employee.

ArcGIS Pro and OnLine Subscription Access:

You may now self-enroll on the Esri webportal for access to ArcGIS Pro and the OSU ArcGIS OnLine Subscription.

ArcGIS Desktop Installation:

If you need to install from off-campus, make sure you have VPN installed and running before accessing the software server. 
Please see this VPN information for instructions on setup.

*You must be a currently enrolled student, faculty or staff member to access the software server. Should you experience any difficulty with the installation process or are unable to open the ArcGIS folder, please contact the IS Service Desk at 541-737-8787.

Windows 7 Installation:

On your computer, click on the Start Menu button and type into the white search\run box: \\software.oregonstate.edu\software  You may be prompted for your onid credentials and password.  Make sure you enter ONID\username (including the backslash).  Once the window opens for the server directory, double-click on the ArcGIS folder and then on the ArcGIS Desktop folder.  To start the installation, right click the “ArcGIS Desktop Installer.exe” icon and then choose to “Run as Administrator.”  Current license files and a pdf of renewal and installation instructions are within the ArcGIS folder.

Windows 8 or 10 Installation:

On your computer, open the "Start Menu", scroll down to and click on "Windows Systems", then "File Explorer".  On the left, select "This PC", and on the top select "Computer", then "Map network drive."  In the "Folder: dialog box, copy and paste \\software.oregonstate.edu\software  Check "Connect using different credentials" then click "Finish."  In the new pop-up box, enter your ONID\username (including the backslash) and password.  Once the window opens for the server directory, double-click on the ArcGIS folder and then on the ArcGIS Desktop folder.  To start the installation, right click the “ArcGIS Desktop Installer.exe” icon and then choose to “Run as Administrator.”  Current license files and a pdf of renewal and installation instructions are within the ArcGIS folder.
