Audio Booth FAQs

Yes, most likely. We have a Tieline IP codec as well, and can configure it to work with most IP connections. If you would like to test a connection, please contact our Front Desk at 541-737-2121.

Many uses can be done for free; for example, live or recorded connections between media outlets and OSU faculty, staff, or students can be done at no charge to the person being interviewed or their department.

The booth, equipment, and recording technician assistance are available for hire at nominal charge for other projects as well. To determine costs, please contact our Front Desk at 541-737-2121.

The booth is set up for four people; we can accommodate additional with advance notice.

During connections, the number to call with technical issues is 1-541-737-9562.

We can provide a phone interface, to use our microphones through the phone lines. This can sound much better that many telephone handsets, especially cellular connections. We can also record this side of the conversation and post/upload a digital sound file of our end of the conversation for editing, if the interview is not going out live on the air. This option is used quite frequently, and helps our OSU content experts sound great over the air.

Yes! We've got the best place on campus to record voice content. Please contact our Front Desk at 541-737-2121 to schedule time. We can set you up with your own recorder, or provide a recording technician to make sure your recording is the best it can be.

We employ a range of professional microphones, including models from Neumann, Sennheiser, and Audio-Technica, among others, allowing us better options to marry the varying sonic characteristics of different types of voices to the needs of different broadcasters.

Studio and Room FAQs

Yes!  Media Services has studio space in three buildings in Corvallis.  The Learning Innovation Center, Valley Library, and Kidder Hall.  These include video, photography, and audio studio space.  Contact Us to find out which location best fits your needs.

Yes!  There are both general purpose and departmental rooms across campus that are designed with cameras and microphones already installed.  This provides the best audio and video experience for your remote participants.  Here are some locations to consider if your department does not have a dedicated space for videoconferences and/or web collaboration.
